Convenience store chain Kum & Go has embraced a stylish new design with the launch of the Kum & Go Marketplace in Johnston, Iowa. The 6,000-sq.-ft. store is the prototype of a new brand concept designed by New York-based retail design consultancy CBX.
An open-kitchen concept is the centerpiece of the new store, putting food prep on display for customers. White subway tiles, marble-like countertops, and stainless trim also make a striking impression. The new store also promotes the brand’s refreshing look with an 8-foot-tall ampersand gracing the façade. The new logo, designed by Des Moines-based studio Sticks, projects Kum & Go well beyond the curb.
“This new footprint represents everything that Kum & Go strives to be for our associates and for our customers,” says Kyle Krause, president and CEO. “This is the evolution of our brand promise and business approach. Now customers can truly experience the ‘more’ that we provide.”
Headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa, Kum & Go operates 430 stores in 11 states. The brand plans to launch its new design throughout 2016 in 28 additional locations.
